SIM free mobile phones
Whether you’re an avid Apple fan or an Android devotee, the perfect phone is waiting for you at Comet.
Our collection includes the latest iPhones such as the iPhone 14 Pro. We’ve also got amazing deals on older generations of iPhones, including the iPhone 13 and iPhone 12.
We get that not everyone is an Apple fan though. Which is why our mobile phone collection also includes fantastic Android handsets from Samsung, Nokia, and Motorola.
If you’re not so worried about having the latest, flashiest smartphone, then Comet has a range of wallet-friendly phones, too. These include handsets like the Nokia 105 (think of it as being a modern-update to the classic Nokia 3310).
But, just because you’re not spending big money doesn’t mean you can’t have a smartphone. Many of our cheap Nokia phones have smartphone functionality, including 4G connectivity, bright and responsive touch screen displays, integrated cameras, and long-lasting batteries. And, in some cases, all for less than £100! (Correct at the time of writing, April 2024, and subject to change).
What is a smartphone?
These days, you’ll find that the majority of phones are classed as ‘smartphones’, but what exactly does that mean?
Put simply, a smartphone is a device that combines the functionality of a traditional mobile phone (e.g. the ability to send text (SMS) messages and make phone calls) with the ability of a computer to access the internet via a browser.
It’s this versatility that has resulted in smartphones becoming the phone of choice for people of all ages and backgrounds. You can call and text friends, and browse online whenever the fancy takes you!
As smartphones have developed, they’ve increasingly added even more functionalities such as the ability to take photos, record videos, listen to music, download apps and play games and more.
Leading smartphone brands include Apple and Samsung (both of which are available here at Comet).
What is a dumb phone?
Having said all that, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with a more traditional mobile phone, either!
These days, it’s possible to buy more traditional phones that can only be used to send text messages and make phone calls. However, because of this limited functionality compared to their ‘smart’ siblings, they’ve gained the rather unflattering name ‘dumb phones’.
But, for many people, there’s nothing dumb about buying a phone that is cheap to buy and maintain. Here at Comet, you’ll find a fantastic range of dumb phones from trusted brands like TCL and Nokia. One of our favourite dumb phones is the Nokia 105. Not only does it have a colour screen, but it can last as long as 22 days from a single charge (when on standby). Smartphone owners can only dream about that kind of battery life!
Where to buy the best mobile phones
Why, at Comet of course! Not only do we offer a carefully selected range of dumb phones and smartphones, but we stock the very best brands including Apple, Samsung, and Nokia.
And, whether you’re buying a smartphone or dumb phone, you’ll find that our handsets are available at ridiculously good prices. Even better, we can help you spread the cost of your new phone with our flexible finance options. These include Klarna Pay in 3 and PayPal Credit, which let you pay over three, interest-free instalments.
