You’ll find that your choice of fans, heaters and purifiers also spans from the small to large. Whether you want a compact fan or plug heater to sit on a desk or worktop, or a large radiator or air conditioner to sit in the corner of a room - Comet has you covered.

Fans

Blow away stuffy warm air and bask in a breeze with one of our fans.

We’ve created a collection from leading household names, including Russell Hobbs fans, Tower fans, and Swan fans.

Looking for a fan to sit on a table, desk or work surface? Then you’ll love our selection of desk fans. These include fans with both turbo and quiet settings (with some of our fans being as quiet as 42dB).

Want a stylish floor fan that’ll sweep a cool breeze across a room? Then we’ve got those, too.

Our stand fans - which allow you to raise and lower the fan head in most cases - allow you to adjust the air flow for maximum comfort.

If you want an extra cool cooling solution, then it’s got to be one of our tower fans. These sleek, stylish fans are packed with a wealth of features, including oscillation - better allowing airflow to reach around the room - multiple speed settings, and timers that allow you to save energy with scheduled cooling. They’re also designed to be lightweight and portable, allowing you to easily move and use them when necessary.

You’re bound to be a fan of our fans at Comet.

Heaters

Central heating is becoming increasingly expensive to run in many homes. As such, it can often make more sense just to heat one or two rooms rather than your entire house.

And, the easiest way to do that?

With a portable space heater of course…

Portable space heaters come in many shapes and sizes (and with many different features). But, here at Comet you’ll find all the most popular options from brands like Russell Hobbs, Tower, and Zanussi.

The space heaters you’ll find in our collection includes:

Plug heaters

Plug heaters are just that! They’re small compact heaters which plug into a standard home plug socket and push out heat via a ceramic heating element. These heaters may be small, but they can have excellent heat outputs; for example, some models can push out 500W of heat.

This type of heater is ideal if you just want to heat up a small area (e.g. a desk space or the corner of a room/kitchen).

Oil filled radiators

Resembling traditional radiators on wheels, oil filled radiators are fantastic at heating up larger spaces. Here at Comet, we have radiators available with 2kW heat outputs. To provide some context, that’s the same heat output as many modern electric fireplaces!

Oil filled radiators typically have adjustable heat settings, allowing you to modulate their output to suit the room in which they’re located. They also tend to include carry handles in addition to their castor wheels, making them a breeze to move.

Convection heaters

You’re bound to be familiar with convection heaters. These are the boxy, panel-style heaters that feature an internal heating element which produces heat that then rises up and out of the heater - filling the room with luxuriant heat.

As with other types of heater, convection heaters typically feature several heat settings, variable temperature thermostats and safety features such as overheat protection.

Fan heaters

A regular favourite in homes and workspaces of all kinds is the classic fan heater. As the name suggests, this type of heater uses an electric fan to push air over a heating element. The air passes over the element, heats up, and is then pushed out in the living space.

Fan heaters are one of the most diverse types of heater, coming in varying sizes. Some models can be used either horizontally or vertically and on the floor or on work surfaces.

Like other types of portable heater, fan heaters are usually available with a variety of heat settings, adjustable thermostats, and portability features such as carry handles.

Halogen heaters

Halogen heaters feature a heating bulb and lamp positioned over a heating element. This not only means they provide a lot of heat, but provide a gentle glow, too.

Lightweight, portable and easy to use, halogen heaters are ideal for a wide range of locations. Simply pop one in the corner of a room, and you’ll be warm and comfortable in no time.

Here at Comet, our halogen heaters include models with the latest tech and features, including; multiple heat settings, automatic oscillation, and important safety features like thermal safety cut-outs and overheating protection.

In short, when it comes to heating your home, your choice is almost endless here at Comet!

Air purifiers

Few people realise it, but even innocuous things like items of furniture can release harmful chemicals into your home’s atmosphere.

Take volatile organic compounds (VOCs), for example.

These are harmful chemicals such as formaldehyde that are emitted from the glues within items of furniture or freshly laid carpet. Over time, these can potentially have a negative impact on your health.

Likewise, if you have an open fireplace or wood burning stove, particulate matter can build up in the air in your home. Like VOCs, particulate matter can have a negative impact on your health - especially your respiratory health.

If you’re worried about these issues, then consider buying an air purifier from Comet.

Air purifiers work by combining an internal fan with a filter to pull in ambient air (e.g. the air from the room in which they are located). Once the air has passed through the filter and been purified, it is then recirculated back into the air. This filtration process typically ‘cycles’, repeating several times an hour in order to achieve maximum air quality.

Here at Comet we have a range of quality air purifiers from Russell Hobbs and BLACK+DECKER.

These include air purifiers with the latest HEPA (high-efficiency particulate absorbing) filters that provide filtration for a variety of ambient contaminants including tobacco smoke, pet dander, pollen, and dust (capturing up to 99.95% of particles). Our air purifiers also have high clean air delivery rates (CADRs) meaning they’ll make your air cleaner, quicker.

Other features you’ll find on our air purifiers include UV light (to kill bacteria, viruses, and fungi), automatic operation (e.g. activating when contaminants are detected), and timers to save energy. A number of air purifiers also include different ‘performance’ modes, which can help when the air in your home is feeling especially ‘dirty’.

Many of our air purifiers include handy digital LED displays that make using them a breeze…

Dehumidifiers

Did you know that even a little amount of humidity in your home can result in the development of damp, condensation, and mould?

Aside from damaging the structure of your home, damp can damage your health too.

It’s for this reason that many people choose to buy dehumidifiers for their homes.

Here at Comet you’ll find a variety of compressor/refrigeration dehumidifiers that work by creating an extremely cold surface internally. This cold surface (known as the evaporator) attracts any excess moisture from the ambient air in your home, collecting the moisture and allowing it to condense and drip into a water tank. The air which has passed over the evaporator (and thus lost its moisture), is then passed over a condenser which warms the air and expels it back into your room.

We do also sell dehumidifiers with the latest ‘solid state’ thermoelectric Peltier refrigeration technology, which is a very durable, long-lasting and robust form of cooling tech.

Both types of dehumidifiers are ideal for domestic properties of all types, and can make a big difference in creating a drier, more comfortable atmosphere in your home.

Our range of dehumidifiers includes models with varying extraction rates - spanning from a compact 600 ml through to a massive 20 litres. So, whether you’re looking to dehumidify the air in a small or large room, you’ll find the perfect dehumidifier for you here at Comet.

Dehumidifiers have traditionally had a reputation for being a little noisy, but that’s no problem here at Comet. Our collection of dehumidifiers includes ‘quiet operation’ models that operate at as little as 37 dB.

Naturally, our dehumidifier range includes models with all the latest tech and ‘must have’ features, including; LED lighting, energy-saving modes, 24-hour timers, and continuous drain functions.

Portable air conditioners

The other type of product you’ll find in our fans, heating and air conditioning department is, you guessed it, air conditioners!

More specifically, we sell a collection of portable air conditioners that can be easily moved from room to room or building to building.

Given the rash of warm summers that the UK has experienced in recent years, it makes sense to invest in a portable air conditioner that can quickly, quietly and easily remove humidity from your home and produce a blast of cool, refreshing air.

Here at Comet, our portable air conditioner collection includes the very best examples from BLACK+DECKER, Russell Hobbs, and Zanussi.

These utilise the classic - and highly effective - form of air conditioning technology that is based around a compressor, a condenser coil, an evaporator coil and a refrigerant.

Note - some of our air conditioners are in fact 3-in-1 models which are able to provide air conditioning, straight forward air cooling and even dehumidifying performance in one unit.

Naturally, our collection of portable air conditioners consists of models of varying sizes and capacities. These span 5,000 BTUs up to 12,000 BTU (this typically refers to the amount of heat the air conditioner can remove in an hour, BTU referring to the British Thermal Unit).

And, this being Comet, the home of tech, you’ll find portable air conditioners that are laden with the latest tech and features. Energy-savings modes, LED displays, quiet-operation, sleep modes, dual window venting kits, varying performance modes, and 24 hour timers are just a few of the features that are par for the course on our air conditioners.
